End of third: St. Michael's 43, WLV 33

The Dons cut the margin to 39-33 before Jordan Romero hits a free throws and Michael Yardman-Frank grabs an offensive board and puts it back in with :03 left. It was the 13th offensive rebound for the Horsemen.

Halftime: St. Michael's 30, WLV 20

The Horsemen outscored the Dons 21-8 in the second quarter, fueled by aggressive rebounding and their usual stout defense. Freshman Antonio Garcia hit back-to-back 3-pointers and is the team scoring leader with eight points. Adrian Rivera and John Martinez each had eight for the Dons, but only a Derek Gold 3 and a free throw from Zach Armijo complement that.

End of first quarter: WLV 12, St. Michael's 9

West Las Vegas-St. Michael's boys

It is a packed house in Perez-Shelley Gymnasium, where the warm temperatures inside make the gym feel like a sauna.
Already, the evening has gotten off to a wild start. A fight in the junior varsity game cleared both benches and got both sides riled up.
By the way, the game was won by St. Michael's, 64-57.
Again, I will give you quarterly updates and any other miscellany.
