Updates to the Class AAA Girls State Basketball Tournament

Again, my humblest apologies for not getting any information on this morning's games up, but it has been a rough morning (which you'll read about later on tonight).
As for today's games, the Lady Cardinals of Las Vegas Robertson saw their 2008-09 season end with a 56-48 loss to Portales in the opening game of the morning. Robertson, the 11th seed, only trailed 29-23 at the half but were outscored 12-5 in the third quarter as the Lady Rams built a 41-28 lead that proved to be too big to overcome.
Brooke Knezevich led the Lady Cardinals with 15 points, and Kassandra Tapia score 10.
In the big game of the morning, the top seeded Pojoaque Elkettes rolled to a 44-23 win over No. 4 St. Michael's to advance to their secdon straight AAA title game. It was 11-2 after a quarter as Marissa Romero scored nine of her team's points. She finished with 16 first-half points and the Elkettes led 24-6 at the half.
Pojoaque, which has now won 34 straight games since the start of last year's state tournament, will face Portlaes in a 1-vs.-2 matchup.
Game time is 6 p.m. on Friday.
I will provide updates for the Española-Artesia game. Already about 500 Sundevils fans are in the stands.
